Having lived in Southwestern China (the highland region between Yunnan and Tibet), artist Huang Yong Chang(wong wing cheong) developed a deep passion for the region's people and its beautiful, scenery. Both have provided the inspiration for this collection of oil paintings, Huang employs a realistic approach and prefers to combine heavy brush strokes with subtle yet rich colours. His works can be divided into two main groups f landscapes and portraits. The former celebrates the region's spectacular grassland and mountains, the latter the qualities of its minority people.
